AI Creative Edge: Professional Learning Course
Bridging AI and the Future of Work
The JFY AI Creative Edge course is a hands-on, exploratory professional learning experience designed for educators and instructional leaders working at the intersection of creativity, technology, and career preparation. Built for participants with some prior exposure to AI or multimedia tools, this pilot course invites educators to experiment, create, and reflect—not to master every tool, but to understand how AI can meaningfully expand creative practice, instructional design, and future-ready skills.
Through a sequence of focused, instructor-led modules, participants will explore how emerging AI tools can support design, media production, storytelling, music, no-code app development, and career-aligned learning—while remaining grounded in ethical practice, authenticity, and real classroom application. Learning takes place through guided exploration, hands-on creation, and intentional discussion with the instructor and fellow educators, supporting dialogue, reflection, and collective problem-solving throughout the experience.
This is not a “how-to everything” course. It is a guided sandbox for educators ready to test ideas, build confidence, and shape how AI applications can enhance and expand creativity in teaching and learning.
Module 1: Authenticity & Ethics in AI-Driven Creation
This opening module grounds the entire course in responsible practice. Participants explore how AI systems generate content, where ethical risks arise, and how educators can model transparency, fairness, and authorship in creative and technical work.
Module 1: What to Expect
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
Examine real-world ethical challenges related to AI-generated content
Explore issues of authorship, intellectual property, bias, and misinformation
Develop language and strategies for discussing AI ethics with students
Establish a shared foundation that informs all future modules
Module 2: Prompt Engineering for Creative & Technical Work
This module introduces prompt engineering as a creative thinking skill, not just a technical one. Participants experiment with how structured prompts influence AI outputs across text, visuals, and ideation tasks.
Module 2: What to Expect
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
Learn how prompt structure affects quality, tone, and usefulness of outputs
Practice refining prompts for creative and instructional contexts
Explore prompts as a teachable skill for students
Build confidence iterating rather than “getting it right” the first time
Module 3: AI-Generated Image & Video Creation
This module explores how generative AI tools can support visual storytelling, design thinking, and media production—while addressing authenticity and responsible use in visual media.
Module 3: What to Expect
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
Experiment with AI image and video generation tools
Explore visual design workflows supported by AI
Discuss authenticity, manipulation, and visual misinformation
Consider classroom-appropriate applications aligned to media and design pathways
Module 4: No-Code Apps & “Vibe Coding” with AI
Participants explore how AI can support no-code and low-code creation, enabling rapid prototyping of apps, tools, and digital experiences without traditional programming barriers.
Module 4: What to Expect
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
Explore AI-assisted app and tool creation
Understand how “vibe coding” lowers barriers to innovation
Prototype simple digital solutions tied to real-world problems
Connect no-code creation to entrepreneurship and tech career pathways
Module 5: AI-Generated Music & Audio
This module introduces AI tools that generate music and audio, expanding creative possibilities while exploring important questions about originality and ownership.
Module 5: What to Expect
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
Experiment with AI music and audio generation tools
Discuss authorship and originality in AI-created sound
Explore classroom-safe creative applications
Connect audio creation to media, arts, and storytelling pathways
Module 6: Machine Learning Foundations (Conceptual)
Rather than deep technical training, this module provides a conceptual understanding of how machine learning systems function and learn from data.
Module 6: What to Expect
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
Understand core machine-learning concepts at a high level
Explore how data influences AI outcomes
Discuss bias, limitations, and system transparency
Gain language to explain ML concepts to students without over-technical framing
Module 7: AI, Creativity & Future Career Pathways
The final module pulls everything together, helping participants connect AI-driven creative skills to real-world career pathways and instructional design.
Module 7: What to Expect
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
Connect AI tools to careers in design, media, tech, and entrepreneurship
Reflect on instructional applications aligned to future-ready skills
Identify ways to integrate AI creativity into existing curricula
Contribute feedback that shapes the future of the Creative Edge program
