JFY AI Leadership Institute Overview

The JFYNet AI Leadership Institute is a multi-track program designed to equip a wide range of education professionals with the knowledge, tools, and strategies for responsible and effective AI integration. Its three distinct tracks cater to:

  • Teachers, Teacher Coaches, and Curriculum Specialists (Track 1), emphasizing hands-on application of AI tools for lesson planning, content creation, assessment, differentiation, and boosting professional productivity.
  • Creative Educators in STEM, CTE, and the Humanities (Track 2), with a focus on industry-specific AI applications, innovative curriculum development, and project-based learning in vocational fields like manufacturing, healthcare, and IT/cybersecurity, as well as creative AI applications in digital media and arts.
  • Vocational-Technical School Educators (Track 3), The JFYNet AI Leadership Institute’s Voc-Tech track is designed for vocational and technical educators to integrate AI into their disciplines. Participants will gain hands-on strategies for applying AI tools across various industries, enabling them to develop a curriculum that prepares students for the future workforce.

Complementing these professional development efforts, Google has expanded access to its no-cost AI tools within Google Classroom, including Google Vids for video creation, Gemini in Classroom for content generation and lesson planning, and teacher-led AI experiences for students using NotebookLM and Gems. Not to be outdone, Microsoft Education in collaboration with Khan Academy has also released a suite of Free AI tools and a playbook for use. These tools aim to amplify teaching and learning by streamlining tasks for educators and providing interactive, personalized learning opportunities for students, with enhanced administrative controls for data protection and privacy that will likely accelerate the adoption of AI in education.
